The Bride

The Groom

An enchanting tapestry of charm, beauty, and grace follows Athena wherever she goes. Imbued with the passion of caring for others, Athena has a magnificent exuberance that illuminates and brightens the life of all who she helps as a nurse and as a friend. Her Greek heritage runs deep, and with a love for cooking that is as savory as it is delightful, it is hard to find a better combination. Having met at the same university, she knew from the very first ice-cream date that embarking on this journey with Michael was going to be one filled with endless love, laughter, and joy.

In the heart of Long Island, where the salty sea breeze meets the allure of city lights, Michael has woven a medley of remarkable experiences throughout his life. An ice hockey player and cancer research scientist, Michael exudes great dedication to everything he does. Amidst his dedication to these crafts, he stumbled upon the greatest adventure of all - love. A serendipitous encounter during his days of university education led him to Athena and their love story blossomed, culminating in this joyous celebration of their union.

Our Story

Athena and Michael met in college at Adelphi University in the Spring of 2016. He, a biology major finishing his Bachelor’s degree and moving on to his Master’s; she, a nursing major, finishing her Bachelor’s. After exchanging a few glances and quick encounters, the two hit it off through on- and off-campus activities.

College parties and formal events served as the catalyst to bring these the two closer and closer together until their bond grew to be inseparable. Fast forward seven years… these two love birds have shared countless dates and adventures that have brought them from the tip of Montauk to the tiny Greek island of Leros - home of Athena’s Hellenic roots.

On May 6th, 2023, Michael brought Athena to Planting Fields Arboretum for a typical date - a stroll through the park and a tour of a historic mansion. The entire week was filled with cold, dreary weather, but come the sixth, it was unseasonably beautiful. Seventy-three degrees and sunny with a lovely, light breeze.

Little did Athena know, that upon completing this date, a classical string trio and photographer lay waiting under the West Portico of Coe Hall. A complete surprise, the strings played Air on the G String by J.S. Bach as Michael proposed. To top it off, their siblings were there to surprise Athena after the moment.
