Key information
What is the dress code for the day?
For both the ceremony and reception, dress code will be black-tie preferred. If you have questions about this, please visit our Dress Code page.
Are Kids Welcome?
As much as we love your little ones, the ceremony and reception will be an adults-only celebration. We hope this advance notice means that you are able to take the night off and celebrate with us!
Where and when is the wedding ceremony taking place?
Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church (100 Fairway Drive, Port Washington, NY 11050) on September 28th, 2024. We ask that guests please be seated at or prior to 2:30PM. The ceremony will start promptly at 3:00PM.
Where and when is the reception taking place?
The Somerley at Fox Hollow (7725 Jericho Turnpike, Woodbury, NY 11797). Cocktail hour will begin at 7:30PM. Guests may arrive 15- to 30-minutes prior to the start of cocktail hour.
Will the reception be indoors or outdoors?
Our cocktail hour will take place in a hybrid indoor-outdoor space where guests can move freely. If weather does not cooperate, cocktail hour will be moved indoors. After cocktail hour, we will be moving to the indoor ballroom, but outdoor access will remain available.
Will the wedding ceremony be indoors or outdoors?
Our wedding ceremony will take place indoors.
What time will our reception end? Is there an after-party?
Our reception will end at 12:30AM. After-party information is still TBD.
Can I bring a plus one?
Unfortunately, we are at capacity with our venue which means we are unable to accommodate additional guests outside those which we have invited. We look forward to celebrating with you on the day!
Hotel & Lodging
Will there be a shuttle to and or from the hotel(s)?
No. The Somerley is located on the same property as The Inn at Fox Hollow. As such, it is only a few steps away.
Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend?
Yes, we have a hotel block organized with The Inn at Fox Hollow. We recommend this as our primary accommodation due to the luxurious arrangements and proximity to our reception space. To reserve, please call the hotel at (516) 224-8100 and mention the Del Latto-Smyth wedding. The base discounted block rate is $309.00 for September 28th, 2024; total with taxes and fees will come to $344.92. Rooms for our block are at a first-call, first-serve basis.
Food & Drink
Will there be meal options for guests with dietary restrictions or allergies?
Yes, our venue can accommodate vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, or any allergies to fit your personal needs.
Will There be an open bar?
Yes, of course⦠also, any and all embarrassing moments will be recorded in memoriam forever!

How do I RSVP?
Invitations will be sent out in the near future. Please return your completed RSVP by mailing it to the bride and groom at 66 Netherwood Drive, Albertson, NY 11507.

Do you have any recommendations for local restaurants, points of interest, or things to do?
Yes. For local restaurants we recommend Rare650 Prime Steak & Sushi, PlatΓa Greek Kitchen, or Dirty Taco + Tequila of Woodbury. For points of interest and things to do close by, recommend the Regal Westbury Cinema, Planting Fields Arboretum, Sagamore Hill National Historic Site, or the Broadway Commons. Traditional Elements
The Koumbaro and Koumbara.
The Greek Orthodox Church requires that the couple appoint Orthodox Christian wedding sponsors who are in good standing with the church. The Koumbari are responsible for many traditions associated with the wedding ceremony.

The sacraments and ceremony of the Greek Orthodox Church are rich with symbolism. Exchanging of rings, lighting of Lambathes (candles), and crowning of Stefana are a few of these traditions. If you would like to learn more about this procession, you can do so here or here.
Greek dancing.
Our reception will not be an all-Greek musical affair, but do not be surprised when you hear Zorbaβs dance come on over the sound system! Dancing is a big part of the Greek tradition and there are thousands of them! Some well known dances include Lerikos, Kalamatianos, Sirtaki, Hasapiko, Tsamiko, and Zeibekiko. Feel free to jump in!
Money on the dancefloor.
The money dance, also known as the Dollar Dance, is a wedding tradition where guests shower the couple with money in a wish for great prosperity. This is typically done with $1 bills. When the dance is complete, the money is swept up and given to the band at the end of the night as gratuitiy.
Rice Throwing.
Common in many other cultural traditions, as the married couple exits the church, they are showered with rice.
